Athens: Hadrian’s Gate Tour

Visit in this tour one of the most recognizable monuments of the city, on Amalias Avenue, the Hadrian’s Gate . It is the honorary arch built in 131 BC. By the Athenians in honor of their emperor-benefactor. It has two inscriptions, the first on the Acropolis side says: “Here is Athens, the city of Theseus” and second side towards the Olympics it says: “This is the city of Hadrian and not Theseus.”
