A tour of some of the most important sights of the historical center of Athens.
We begin this beautiful exploration in the center of Athens, with the temple of Olympus Zeus which was the largest temple of Greece during Hellenistic and Roman times.
Next stop of our tour is at the famous Acropolis. The hill is estimated to have been inhabited since the 3rd millennium BC. The Parthenon is the largest and most formal building of the Acropolis, and it brings together the admiration of the entire world for centuries now. Work on the erection of this all-square temple of Athena began in 447 BC. under the direction of the architects Iktinou and Kallikratis. The church was completed in 438 BC. This architectural masterpiece has been there for more than 2,000 years.
We continue to visit the Panathenaic Stadium or Kallimarmaro. At the Panathenaic Stadium, the Olympic Games of the First Olympic Games took place in 1896. In antiquity they were used to perform a part of the Panathinaikos in honor of the goddess Athena.
